If it’s more home support you need, we provide visits to members outside the centre to assist with internet shopping, as well as home visits to give carers a welcome break.
Many people like to do their own shopping but need some help to do so.
As part of our home support services, our team run fortnightly assisted shopping trips on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Our driver and support worker take our members to and from a local supermarket and help with any shopping.
Our minibus is fully wheelchair accessible and provides transport right to your door.
There is a small charge per trip and must be booked in advance to secure a place.
Our sitting service is offered to people who live and care for a relative in their own home. We arrange for a friendly volunteer to sit with them whilst their carer takes a break. This could be for any time between 1 to 4 hours dependent on the individual.
Our Sitting Service Coordinator will visit you at home to discuss the needs and preferences of both you and your relative. Our volunteers are people of all ages and from all walks of life, so we do our best to match you with a suitable person.
All our volunteers must submit references and undergo a DBS check before they start. They will also be accompanied by the coordinator on their first visit to you.
It’s important to us that you are happy with your sitting arrangement. If you have any problems with any aspect of our service please contact us and we will do our best to put things right.
This innovative service is popular with people who have difficulty getting out. Either a staff member or a trained volunteer visits with a laptop to help you shop.
We can reach people who live in remote areas of Richmondshire on a weekly, 2 weekly or monthly basis.
We will help you to shop online and arrange delivery at a time that is convenient to you.
There is a small charge for this service.
